Skin Deep News
"We regretfully have to inform you that in early May 2010 guitarist Mark Carter, one of the founding members of the band 2 A.M. was diagnosed with "Extensive Small Cell Lung Cancer" and is currently battling for his life with this disease. This is an uncommon type of cancer, which is very aggressive and fast-spreading. It has already spread to his spine, pelvis, tailbone, and his brain. The diagnosis came completely out of the blue, was completely unsuspected at all, and unfortunately, is simply a terrible nightmare for him and his family (which includes a beautiful 6-year-old daughter). For 14 years 2 A.M. has rocked this town, region and everywhere in between. For now, we pause and take an indefinite hiatus with the band while we stand together with Mark while he battles this disease. Please join us in prayers for Mark & his family as they must walk through the darkest of hours humanly & possibly imaginable. We all pray to God for a great healing, outcome, and for a full remission. And we pray Mark will be back in action again soon. But until further notice, and while Mark's receiving the treatments and care he so desperately needs, 2 A.M. is on indefinite hold."

Many of the members of Skin Deep are good friends with Mark Carter and we are doing everything in our power to help him in any way we can. On Sunday June 11th, there will be a benefit concert at Route 46 in Sanford and all proceeds will go to Mark and his family. Skin Deep will be one of the bands playing and we are hoping that all of our fans will come out for this special event and help a great cause!
Not sure of the times yet, but there will be many bands playing, auctions and other ways to make donations. Some of the bands playing include, 2 AM, Skin Deep, The Trans Ams, Rocket Fly, The Syndicate and more...
Thanks for your support.

As you know, we had to cancel our Friday night Wolfy's gig a couple weeks ago at the last minute. Unfortunately a few of you did not get the late message and went up for the gig anyway and we wern't there. We sincerely apologies for any inconvenience that caused. Please understand that was completely out of our control.
The owner of Wolfy's was trying to get us to only play on Saturday and we explained to him that with all the equipment we bring and setup, we can not justify doing it for one night. He said he understood and agreed to go two nights. Then Friday morning he calls us and says he had a water leak and a gas leak and that he needed to cancel Friday night.
Well now the owner of Wolfy's just called us again to try and cancel Friday night again for the up coming September gig. As has been the case, he seems to spring this on us after we send out the annoucements, so now we have to send out follow-ups to cancel again. Sorry for all of the confusion, but it will not happen again.
So for the record, Skin Deep will not be playing at Wolfy's in September or for the forseeable future.
We look forward to seeing you at Route 46 and Dexter's Lake Mary! |

We are sad to inform all of you that Brian "Kaddilac" Perry is leaving Skin Deep for personal reasons. Kaddy was a good friend and excellent band member with Skin Deep for over 2 years. He needs to move on at this time to put more effort into other projects and we wish him well.
Luckily we have friends with friends and were able to find another keyboard player fairly quickly. Mr. Jamie Barker has accepted the position and will be playing out with us August 14th and 15th at Wolfy's in Sanford. Jamie is the Music Director for Bishop Moore High School and is one heck of a musician. We are looking forward to the next chapter of the Skin Deep saga.
Good luck Brian and welcome aboard Jamie! |

| A lot of you were going through Skin Deep withdrawl and quite frankly we were also. So we contacted Wolfy's in Sanford and got a couple more dates. So check the Event Calendar for details, but basically we will be playing Friday and Saturday August 14th and 15th at Wolfy's in Sanford. Not sure on the times yet, but we'll let you know once we get closer. Rock on! |

Hey Skin Deepers,
Thanks for the comments, we miss all of you guys and gals as well. As you have probably seen from our event scheduler, we are basically off for the Summer. It is tough to syncronize all of our schedules during the Summer months so we don't really even try. However, during this little hiatis we are taking advantage of the time by learning some new tunes to add to the repetoire. We are hoping tune learn about 10 new ones by September. I can not beleive how fats time is flying by and September will be here before you know it. So mark down the September date and make sure we pack the house that night! |

It's that time agian! The Federal Tax deadline has finally arrived and you just got your 2008 Tax return filed. Hopefully you got a little money back from good old Uncle Sam. Whether you got money back or have the blues because you had to pay this year, the best remedy is a Skin Deep show at Dexter's! A couple of drinks, great music, hanging out with great people and dancing the night away is just what you need to celebrate or recooperate!
This month Skin Deep will be playing Dexter's Winter Park on April 17th and 18th and will be playing Dexter's Lake Mary April 24th and 25th. The shows start at 8:30 in Winter Partk and 9:30 in Lake Mary.
So come on out, and don't forget your friends. See you at Dexter's! |

The tough economic times are starting to affect Skin Deep. Many of our favorite venues are going out of business which of course means we can not play our gigs at those places! First there was Gina's Lakeside Grill. We were really starting to turn that place around and Skin Deep fans really liked the laid back roomy atmosphere. Then Wolfy's closed down and cancelled a few gigs. Wolfy's has since reopened under new ownership and once again Skin Deep is booked to play there in May.
The latest casualty is Rivals Sports Bar in Oveido. We just got news Thursday that they have closed there doors. So, needless to say our gigs for February 6th and 7th have been cancelled. It is a shame because we really liked playing at Rivals!
We are currently trying to fill the February 6th and 7th dates. We are checking with Wolfy's because they had that date open and hopefully we can sneak in there. We will keep you posted.
Good luck our there. We'll see you soon.
